This is a week for using pantry and freezer items. My only purchase so far has been a package of boneless, skinless chicken breasts.
I purchased this kit a few months back. I love Pad Thai and haven’t put much effort into making it myself. I guess the “Food Network” branding caught my eye. I usually don’t buy processed foods.
It ended up making 3 large meals. I used half of the chicken breast, and cooked the other half and put in the fridge.
Yes, here’s my messy plate. 😉
What I purchased at Aldi on 5/15:
|Item||Cost||Use this week||Pantry Item|
|2 - containers Blue Cheese||4.58||some||Will last approximately 2 weeks|
|8 Lemons||2.49||Experiment with making Limoncello|
|Almonds||5.29||I use them for Granola|
|Organic Baby Lettuce||1.79||This should last into next week|
I ate one of the meals of Pad Thai yesterday at work. My verdict: I will not buy it again.
I also ate one of the pre-cooked rices from Tasty Bite. I like the plain brown rice they have.
